Barbie Smoothie/Ice blocks (aka Beetroot smoothie!)

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 ice cube mould

Ingredients
  

  • 2 small cooked and peeled beetroot (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 pitted medjool dates
  • 1 handful hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup greek yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup kefir (just use more greek yoghurt if you don’t have any)
  • 200 ml milk of choice

Instructions
 

  • Add all to a blender and blend until smooth
  • If there’s any leftover you can freeze in ice blocks moulds. Or pop into ice cube moulds and freeze so you can pop in a silicone feeder for young babies

Age Appropriate: When tolerating dairy
I had to join in on the fun of Barbie!
This is one of our favourite smoothies and a great way to incorporate vegetables in your little ones diet. You can omit the dates for younger babies, and swap greek yoghurt for coconut to keep it dairy free. I like to incorporate kefir for some added probiotics.
