GF | DF | EF | RSF
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 cups  almonds soaked overnight - or at least a few hours in warm water and a pinch of salt - this will activate them.
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1 date (Optional)
  • 1 vanilla bean (Optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (Optional)

Equipment

  • 1 Container
  • 1  Blender

Method

  1. Soak almonds overnight (covered in warm water and a pinch of salt)
  2. Drain almonds
  3. Add to blender with 3 cups filtered water
  4. Add optional extras if you would like
  5. Blend
  6. Strain in nut bag (I just use a canvas bag cut up) over a sieve over a bowl
  7. Store in fridge for up to 3 days

Notes

You can use any ratio of nuts to water, I like to do about 1/3 nuts to 2/3 water to make a creamy milk.
Almond milk (or any alternative milk/drink) IS NOT recommended as a milk replacement prior to 12 months, however it can be used as a part of cooking or to make a smoothie with.
