Course 1 meal a day, Baby Led Weaning, gummies, Snack
Equipment
Saucepan
Refrigerator
Whisk or Spoon
Silicone moulds or glass container
Ingredients
100mlliquid of choicebasically any liquid/smoothie and even purée will work except: pineapple, kiwi and papaya.
1TBSPgelatin
Instructions
Add chosen liquid to a saucepan and sprinkle over the gelatin
Wait a few minutes and allow the mixture to ‘bloom’ - Blooming is the process of softening the gelatin before using to help it dissolve easily and avoid clumps of undissolved gelatin. It will look a bit wrinkly and thicken.
Place the saucepan on a low heat and stir often until the gelatin is dissolved (should take a couple of minutes).
Place into moulds of choice - you can use silicone moulds, glass containers or a container lined with baking paper. For young babies I like to set in a small glass rectangular dish then cut to safe finger sized shapes to serve.
Refrigerate until set - atleast 2 hours usually. My tip here to prevent the mixture spilling on the way to the fridge out of the moulds, is to leave it on the bench for 10-15 minutes - it will semi set and make it easier to transfer
Notes
AGE APPROPRIATE: 6 months +Notes: They should last about 3 days in the fridge - they will freeze but they are a bit finicky with defrosting.
