Mackerel Pate

Equipment

  • cutting board
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Serving bowl or container

Ingredients
  

  • 120 grams tinned mackerel drained
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese or quark
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs parsley or dill
  • 1/4 tsp salt optional
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Zest of half a lemon

Instructions
 

  • Finely chop the fresh herbs
  • Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and pulse until smooth
  • Serve as a toast topper or a nutrient dense dip for other finger foods

Notes

 You can keep the bones inside the fish for extra calcium as they are so soft just like the bones inside sardines - I like the brand GoodFish

Cottage cheese is a great lower sodium cheese you can introduce to your baby.
