Hello, Boob to Food families! ‘Tis the season to add a dash of holiday cheer to your toddler’s snack time, and we’ve got just the recipe to make it merry – Gingerbread Bliss Balls! We’re all about turning mealtime into a playful adventure, especially during the festive season.
So, gather your little kitchen sidekicks because this isn’t just a recipe; it’s a fun-filled activity perfect for tiny hands to roll their little creations.
This recipe is for our kids over 12 months old – 100 years old! They make the best snack for mums, especially when you’re breastfeeding and starving and only have one hand to eat with!
Gingerbread Christmas Bliss Balls
- 1/3 cup pecans
- 1/3 cup sultanas
- 3/4 cup dried dates
- 1/3 cup desiccated coconut
- 1/2 cup almond meal
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 TBSP butter/ghee or coconut oil
- 1 TBSP honey
Soak the dried dates in boiling water for 10 minutes – then strain and set aside
Add the soaked dates to a food processor with the pecans, almond meal, desiccated coconut, sultanas, cinnamon, ginger, honey and melted butter. Process until the mixture comes together
Begin rolling the bliss balls by taking roughly 1.5 tbsp of the mixture and rolling into balls. Repeat this process until all of the mixture has been rolled
* Store the bliss balls in the fridge for 5 days – they can also be frozen.
