This smoothie is so delicious and the perfect way of incorporating some extra vegetables into yours and your little ones meals! Pumpkin is a great first food for baby, so you can ‘kill two birds with one stone’ and cook some pumpkin for your baby, and with the leftovers use to make yourself a smoothie, or add to salads, serve with dinner etc.
Hi. Recipe sounds lovely! just wondering at what age you can start giving your baby smoothies? My 9.5 month old no longer wants to be fed and only wants finger food but I thought a smoothie may be a good option too?! Thank you.
Any age is fine as long as its not displacing breast/formula feeds!
Can you give protein powder to 8 month old in a smoothie?
Hi Luke, can 10 month old have the smoothie recipe ? Or is the smoothie section just for the adults and older kids ?
Hi Julie,
Absolutely this smoothie would be great for a 10month old. I would just recommend omitting the MCT oil, and ensure that the collagen or protein powder you use is just simple ingredients (it should just be the protein source and maybe some vanilla and a sweetener). You want to avoid anything that is more of a "weight loss" shake or has a lot of synthetic nutrients or additives. If you’re unsure about your brand of protein you could omit entirely and instead use some nut butter (providing bub has already tried and is ok with nuts) as a protein source. Hope that helps!
