78 – Mothering with a disability and embracing our differences with Jess Quinn

If you’re looking for some inspiration – this is the episode for you. Our guest today proves that you can overcome anything, and is an absolute force – an amputee mama normalising ‘different’ to inspire other women to feel seen, heard and less alone. She’s our kind of girl.

This week on the podcast we are thrilled to welcome the incredible Jessica Quinn. Jess is an all round inspirational woman – she is an advocate for disability awareness, body acceptance, and diversity, an author, a model, content creator, business woman – and most recently a mother to her baby girl Marla. Her journey to motherhood, while navigating the unique challenges of living with a disability as well as endometriosis and chronic pain is so inspiring and she shares so openly with grace and wisdom. We loved this chat and adore Jess.

In this podcast we discuss

  • Jess’ story about how she came to lose her leg and some of the unique challenges being an amputee presents as a mum
  • Living with a disability and the choice to share so openly about her experience
  • Her decision to become a mum and how her diagnosis of endometriosis affected this
  • Body acceptance and how motherhood has changed her perspective
  • Health anxiety and reflecting on her experience as a child now that she is a mother
  • … and so much more!
