This is a family favourite recipe and now it's time for your family to enjoy this savoury, easy-to-prepare meal that's filled with love and nutrition. The best thing is this recipe is also SO budget friendly which we all know we need in this economy!
Our Curried Sausages recipe is not like the store-bought versions filled with preservatives and MSG; it's incredibly simple to make and solely consists of fresh, wholesome ingredients! Using sausages, frozen peas, zucchini, apple, and curry powder, it's the perfect dish to introduce your little ones to nourishing, homemade meals.
Curried Sausages
- 7 beef sausages
- 3/4 cup frozen peas
- 1 medium zucchini
- 1 red apple
- 1 brown onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 celery stick
- 1 TBSP curry powder
- 2.25 cup broth of choice
- 3 TBSP spelt flour (see notes)
- 1 tsp honey (omit under 12 months)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 TBSP cooking oil/fat (lard/tallow/olive oil/ghee/coconut oil)

Finely dice the onion, garlic and celery. Cut the apple and zucchini into small equal sized chunks

Slice the sausages into small equal sized pieces. Add them to a hot pan with oil until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside

Add another tablespoon of oil into the pan and begin cooking the onions, garlic, celery, apple and zucchini until soft

Add the curry powder and peas and cook for a further minute

Add the sausage back in and the flour. Stir well cooking for a further minute

Pour in the broth and honey and allow to cook for a further 5 minutes until the sausages have cooked and it has thickened
*Serve with rice or mashed potatoes
For GF - swap the spelt flour for cassava or buckwheat.
