About the recipe

Refreshing summer ice blocks made with tropical fruit, creamy yoghurt, and a hint of ginger, perfect for little ones and big kids alike.

These tropical Summer Fruity Ice Blocks are sunshine on a stick—bright, tangy, and full of gut-loving goodness. Made with a blend of mango, papaya, passionfruit and yoghurt, they’re naturally sweet, loaded with nutrients, and perfect for hot days (or teething relief!).

They’re easy to adapt with whatever fruit you have on hand, and the touch of ginger adds a subtle warmth that pairs beautifully with the tropical flavours. A dash of bee pollen, honey or maple syrup gives them just enough sweetness—just be sure to omit for little ones under 12 months.

Age suitability:

Suitable from around 8 months+ once dairy and ingredients have been tolerated.
Omit honey and bee pollen for babies under 12 months.

Serving suggestions:

Offer straight from the mould, or for younger children we would recommend popping into a silicone feeder like this one.

Storage tips:

Store frozen for up to 3 months.

Ingredients

1 cup chopped papaya or paw paw
1/2 cup chopped mango
1 passionfruit, pulp only
1 cup coconut yoghurt (or substitute Greek or natural yoghurt)
1/2 cup milk of choice
1 teaspoon bee pollen (or substitute honey or maple syrup)
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated

Method

Add the papaya, mango and passionfruit pulp to a blender with the yoghurt, milk, bee pollen (or sweetener of choice), and fresh ginger.

Blend until completely smooth.

Pour into ice block moulds and place in the freezer to set overnight, or until firm.

Ingredient swaps:

Use any tropical fruits—pineapple, banana, or even a handful of berries.
Coconut yoghurt can be swapped for full-fat Greek or natural yoghurt.
Omit honey or bee pollen for under 12 months.
Leave out the ginger if your child prefers a milder flavour.
