Here’s my cultured apple-pie Bircher recipe! Easy to digest, brimming with probiotics and good bacteria to support our gut-microbiome, lots of fibre/fat/protein to balance our blood glucose and of course – an EASY, quick breakfast that can be shared by the whole family.

- bowl
- 2 cups rolled oats (quinoa flakes work for GF)
- 3 cups kefir (Can be milk or coconut, if you don’t have kefir can swap for 2 cups Greek yoghurt and 1 cup milk of choice)
- 1-2 apples (grated)
- 2 TBSP chia seeds
- 2 TBSP hemp seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon (ground)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or powder
Optional
- 1-2 TBSP maple syrup (omit under 12 months)
- 2 serves collagen powder
Add all to a bowl, stir, cover and place in the fridge overnight before serving!
Does not freeze well.
Will keep for 3 days in the fridge.
