Immune cod liver oil gummies

Course 1 meal a day, BLW, gummies, Snack

Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Silicone moulds or glass container
  • 1 knife

Ingredients

  • 350 mls orange juice
  • 3 tbsp gelatin
  • 1 tsp cod liver oil I use 3 tsp in ours but they are quite fishy, my kids don’t mind but if you think yours will then start with 1 tsp
  • 1-2 tbsp raw honey omit for babies under 1 year

Optional

  • 1 tsp vitamin C powder
  • 1 tsp camu camu powder

Instructions

  •  Add juice to a small saucepan
  • Sprinkle the gelatin on top and leave for a minute, you should notice an immediate reaction called ‘blooming’ where the liquid absorbs the gelatin. It will look wrinkly – if this process doesn’t happen for some reason, don’t worry, it should still work!
  • Stir and place saucepan on a low heat, add honey if using, continue to stir until all the gelatin is dissolved and is no longer gritty (about 3-5 minutes)
  • Add the cod liver oil and vitamin C powder if using and stir.
  • Pour the mixture in mould of your choice. For babies under 12 months I would set in a glass rectable 'tupperware' style container and once set cut into finger shaped/length pieces
  • Place in fridge to set (will take about an hour)
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days

Notes

AGE APPROPRIATE: One meal a day +
Note:
The cod liver oil might rise to the top when it sets and be a bit ‘oily’. Babies don’t seem to mind about this though.
