Easy Apple Fritters for Babies & Toddlers (BLW-Friendly + Freezer Friendly)

Looking for a quick, nourishing and baby-led weaning friendly snack? These soft and lightly spiced apple fritters are made with just a handful of ingredients and are perfect for little hands to explore. Whether you’re serving them as breakfast, a snack, or part of lunch, these fritters are gentle on tiny tummies and naturally sweetened with apple. They also freeze and reheat beautifully—making them a great option to prep ahead!

Storage & Reheating Tips

  • Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Freezer: Freeze in a container or bag for up to 2 months, best with a piece of baking paper between each fritter so they don’t stick together.
  • To reheat: Warm in a frying pan or pop in the toaster or air fryer until heated through. They can also be served cold on-the-go.

Apple fritters

Course 1 meal a day, Baby Led Weaning, BLW, Snack
Servings 3 fritters

Equipment

  • 1 bowl
  • 1 Frying Pan
  • 1 Plate

Ingredients
  

  • 1 apple grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp heaped cassava flour (could also use spelt or buckwheat)
  • 1 sprinkle cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp Ghee or coconut oil to cook in

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients except ghee to a bowl, stir to combineMelt ghee in a frying pan over medium heat
  • Once pan is hot, add the batter in small fritters (I made 3) and pan fry on both sides until cooked through
  • Serve as a whole fritter or cut into finger shape sizes for your baby or toddler

*spread with nut butter for extra nutrients!!
