Baby's Freezer Favourites

Batch cooking is one of our favourite ways to make feeding your baby feel that little bit easier.

Having a freezer stocked with nourishing, baby-friendly meals means that on the busy days (or the days when you simply cannot think of what to cook), you’ve always got something ready to go.

These are some of our favourite recipes to cook in bigger batches and freeze in smaller portions, so you can defrost just what you need. Mix and match with simple sides like rice, pasta, vegetables etc.

A little bit of prep now = a whole lot less thinking later.

Gut loving Dahl

Gut loving Dahl

Dahl is the perfect postpartum food, and also a great food for your baby when introducing lentils (around 8 months). It is easy to pre-prepare, it freezes well, is warming with aromatic spices , high protein, contains essential fats in the coconut milk and cooking in bone broth will aid digestion and provide you with gelatin for gut health. This recipe is also rich in anti-inflammatory, immune boosting foods and spices such as ginger, turmeric and garlic, which is essential in the winter months!

Happy Belly Porridge Fingers

Happy Belly Porridge Fingers

These are the ‘happy belly porridge fingers’ from my book Milk to Meals - this recipe came about from my stubborn middle child refusing to eat any purée or be spoon fed - so I turned her leftover porridge into these porridge fingers using grass-fed gelatin, so it was a win-win in my eyes - she could be independent with her meal, have the added health benefits of the gelatin and there was no food waste!!

Brothy Rice

Brothy Rice

Cooking rice in bone broth using the absorption method is a really easy way of incorporating bone broth into your little ones diet, making this rice not only gut-friendly, but delicious! The oil helps to bind to the digestible starch in the rice, creating resistant starch (an amazing prebiotic to feed the good gut-bacteria)
