Chickpea Crackers
GF | DF | EF | NF | RSF
- Oven
- bowl
- knife
- Baking Tray
- cup
- Spoon
- 1 cup Chickpea (besan) flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3.5 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Olive oil
- kelp flakes to sprinkle over the top ((optional but nutritious))
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
In a bowl add all of the dry ingredients and mix well
Pour in the olive oil, and add the water slowly until it forms a dough – it should be not too wet, and not too dry
Knead dough gently for a couple of minutes
Next tear off two pieces of baking paper and place the dough between two pieces on a bench. Roll the dough out to an even thickness – you want these crackers quite thin! Peel the top layer of baking paper off, and place the crackers on a baking tray with the baking paper remaining underneath
Gently slice the dough into the shape of crackers – any size you like! There's no need to cut through to the bottom, as they will crack apart once cooked. Sprinkle the kelp flakes over the top and bake for 10-15 minutes until the crackers have firmed, are turning golden at the edges and slightly puffed up. Crack apart and serve with some homemade dip.
