Curried sausage fritters are perfect as a wholesome meal that everyone from toddlers to the adults can enjoy, or as a great snack for your toddler on the go. These are easy to prepare, budget-friendly, and can be easily modified to be gluten-free! These fritters are great once your baby is tolerating egg. Feel free to swap out the herbs or spices to taste. Use any sausages you would like, we prefer to source preservative-free wherever possible.

Perfect for BLW, or as a great addition to your little one’s lunch-box. Serve with yoghurt or vegetable puree as a dipping sauce.

Curried Sausage Fritters

GF option | DF | NF | RSF | contains egg

  • Frying Pan
  • Grater
  • bowl
  • Whisk, fork
  • 2 cooked sausages of your choice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup grated zucchini (juice squeezed out)
  • 1 small cob of corn
  • 1/2 grated red apple (juice squeezed out)
  • 1/2 brown onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp spelt flour (or cassava flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp mild curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (if appropriate)
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil or fat for frying (we love ghee, tallow or olive oil)
  1. 1. Take out a large bowl and crack in the eggs, whisking gently

  2. 2) Grate the zucchini and apple and squeeze out the juice for both. Add them to the bowl with the eggs

  3. 3) Remove the corn from the cob and place it into the bowl too

  4. 4) Finely dice the garlic and onion, adding them to the bowl with the finely chopped cooked sausages, flour of choice, curry powder and salt. Mix well to combine. Here you can add extra flour if you feel it is necessary

  5. 5) Preheat a frying pan with your choice of cooking oil/fat to a medium – high heat. Once hot begin spooning in the mixture to form fritters

  6. 6) Fry on each side for roughly 3 minutes until golden and cooked within
