About the recipe

These creamy banana and passionfruit ice creams are naturally sweetened, dairy-free, and packed with healthy fats and protein. A perfect summer treat for toddlers, kids and adults alike!

Creamy, fruity, and nourishing—these homemade Banana Passionfruit Swirl Ice Creams are such a fun way to beat the heat while still offering something nutrient-dense for your little ones. Naturally sweet from ripe bananas and a touch of honey (which you can skip for under 12 months), they're also a source of protein, fat, and collagen for growing bodies.

We’ve used coconut cream for that rich, velvety texture and added passionfruit for a little zing. Bonus: you don’t need an ice cream machine—just a blender and some ice cream moulds!

These are a great way to include egg yolks (a superfood for little brains), but you can omit them if eggs aren't tolerated. If you use the collagen, we use this brand (use discount code BOOBTOFOOD).

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve as-is for a refreshing treat on hot days.
  • For toddlers, serve with a small spoon to eat slowly.
  • You can also pour into a shallow tray and scoop like traditional ice cream.

Age Range:

Suitable from 12 months+

Storage Notes:

  • Store in moulds or an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Best texture if eaten within the first few weeks.

Ingredients

270g coconut cream (we used AYAM) or 250ml full-fat dairy cream
2 small frozen ripe & spotty bananas
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp collagen (optional but great for protein)Pulp of 2 passionfruit
1 tsp honey

Method

Add the coconut cream, frozen banana, egg yolks, collagen, and honey to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Gently fold in the passionfruit pulp to keep a swirled effect, or blend in fully if preferred.

Pour the mixture into ice cream moulds and freeze for at least 4–6 hours or until solid.

To serve, run the mould under warm water for a few seconds to release.

Egg-Free? Simply omit!
